Tent Camping Party Ideas for Kids
Young children love both tent camping and parties, when you put them together you are looking at one great time. When having a tent camping party, make sure there is enough supervision, safety first always.
There are lots of ways to entertain at a tent camping party. There outdoor games, party toys, fishing parties, hide and seek, water games, laser tag, hay rides, and lots more. The good thing about a tent camping party is the kids are outside and so is the mess.
Nature Hike Party Ideas / Safari Party Ideas
When looking for a camping party idea a nature hike party could be what you are looking for. Find a good hiking trail and scope it out. If it is safe and free of anything dangerous this could be your party spot. Get the kids some toy binoculars, some safari hats, water bottles, bug nets and anything else that strikes your fancy. Depending on the age of your party group, predetermine the length of the hike.
If your nature hike is too long then set a turnaround spot. If there is a public area like a campsite or park at the beginning of the hike, while the kids are hiking someone could set up party stuff and surprise them when they get back. To make this a safari party, just add a few stuffed or paper cut out animals along the trail in inconspicuous places. The kids could be armed on their safari party with pop guns or Nurf guns for added excitement.
Water Party Toys
Water games and water toys are good ways to entertain kids at tent camping parties. It is a lot of fun for them and helps keep them cool. There are many toys you can attach to your garden hose. These sprinkler toys will cover a large area with water and can accommodate a large number of kids at once. This will also help keep the group together for easier supervision. Blow up swimming pools are also great at tent camping parties. Some pools will attach to a garden hose and have build in sprinklers for extra fun.
Fishing at Tent Camping Party
A good thing about children under 12 is they don’t have to have a fishing license. It is a very good time to let them enjoy catching fish while it is still free. When having fishing parties at your tent camping party, you will need to make sure everyone has a fishing pole and an adult very close to help get everyone set up with their fishing poles.
It is best if each parent gets their own child a fishing pole to bring, but a good idea to bring a couple extra in case someone has a problem with theirs. Bobber fishing with worms is recommended. This will decrease the number of cast and chances to get the hook snagged on something. The kids will get so excited when the bobber starts bouncing up and down when they get a fish.
Toys at Camping Party
Frisbee golf is a fun idea for a tent camping party. It can be set up in just about any area and has the same basic rules as regular golf. Anyone that can throw a Frisbee can play and teams can be set up to add a little competition to the fun. If there is enough space at your tent camping party, flying kites is a lot of fun for everyone. There are many different shapes and designs of kites and each one is flown differently. The kids can pick from flying characters to planes to flying animals.
